Integrated Disease Surveillance Program
(IDSP)
The Integrated
Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP) main objective is to strengthen/maintain a decentralized laboratory-based IT-enabled
disease surveillance system for epidemic-prone diseases to monitor disease
trends and to detect and respond to outbreaks in the early rising phase through
a trained Rapid Response Team (RRTs). 2023 onward Integrate Health Information
Platform (IHIP) is fully implemented on these islands and old IDSP portal is stopped.
IHIP is Near-real-time, web-enabled electronic health information system
intended to capture village level case-based disease surveillance data under
IDSP. The IT platform also enable greater collaboration with other existing
disease surveillance programmes and sectors, with support from WHO in future. All
types of surveillance standards, data standards & IT standards are
incorporated in IHIP
